We all need to find a moment to slow down and experience some calm in our lives. The main goal of the Slow Flow Yoga class is to provide you with that moment..

Taking elements from the Ashtanga Vinyasa method, using the breath, the gaze, and both the outward and internal postures of the body, we will move slowly through the practice. The breath and transitions between poses are the primary focus. You will have time to learn and introspect on the poses, discovering how they can be modified and attuned to find the perfect asana for you.

If you have a busy mind and/or a poor posture, learning to move slowly will improve your mental focus and encourage you to stay in the moment. It will help you to gain total body awareness and correct imbalances by yourself, while developing the muscles and core strength to support a healthy posture.

This practice will help to purify the body, calm and strengthen the nervous system and release stress. It will build and create balance, strength, flexibility, and breathing capacity. The slow pace will allow you to calm the mind and to get a better perspective of the how the movement impacts your body and your surroundings.

It is meditation in motion; a method to go deeper within ourselves, seeking love, kindness and acceptance. The practice on the mat is a mirror of our own lives, a useful tool on life’s journey. There is no separation between practice and life, there is just union; yoga.

Über

Carla started practicing yoga in 2002 in her hometown of Santiago, Chile, as a way of finding balance in her life as a busy architecture student. She had always been passionate about movement, having years of experience in ballet and once she had started exploring yoga, the practice has always accompanied her. In 2008, after working as an industrial designer for several years, she left Chile to discover a new path. She saw how yoga had helped to overcome many of life's difficulties, including her own personal hardships; It had healed her, and had given an inner strength and focus. She now felt a strong desire to share her knowledge and to show others the benefits of regular practice. She has had the opportunity to learn in different cultures and with teachers that enriched her practice, while igniting an interest in philosophy, anatomy and meditation. She did her first TT at Samahita Retreat in Thailand and constantly continues to enhance her practice and teaching by regularly attending TT and workshops with teachers such as Michael Hamilton, John Scott, Dough Keller, Stephen Thomas, and Francoise Freedman etc. Nowadays, her main practice and sources of inspiration for her classes are Ashtanga yoga, Vipassana and yoga Nidra. She is also a certified prenatal and postnatal teacher and having been through a bicycle accident herself, she understands even more now the importance of adapting the practice for different moments and possibilities of movement. In her classes, she focuses on exploring while keeping the practice safe, finding healthy alignment in synchronicity with breathing. She encourages finding the strength from a place within rather than from using force, respecting each body as unique and perfect.
