Back to Basics - ASANA PRACTICE
Yoga
Workshop
@ Bubble Yoga // Zürich
There are hundreds of different asanas - physical postures - in modern yoga practice, some of which are repeated over and over again in sequences. As a practitioner - especially when practicing at home without a teacher having an eye out for potentially incorrect execution - it is extremely important to understand the benefits, risks, and progressions of different asanas in relation to your own body constitution (anatomy, injuries, pre-conditions, etc.).
In this workshop, we will look at the most common asanas and analyze them, asking the following questions:
Which muscles are engaged in this pose? Which muscles are relaxed?
Where should I be feeling a stretch in this pose? How can I adjust the pose so I can feel the stretch where I want to feel it?
And like this, we are slowly moving away from how a pose should look like to how a pose feels in your body. #FeelingsOverLooks
This workshop is suitable for practitioners that have been doing yoga for a little while, but also total beginners interested in their body and how they can move it safely are welcome!
These are the things that we will cover in the 2.5h workshop:
Most common asanas (yoga poses) and which body parts are involved in them
Individual alignment in these poses (depending on your body constitution)
Self-practice - which asanas are good for me & why
We will begin & end the workshop with an asana practice.
This workshop is donation-based so it is accessible for everybody (recommendation: 40-60 CHF, depending on your income). Your individual donation is collected after the workshop (cash or Twint).
The number of students is limited to 8 in the studio so that there is enough space to feel comfortable
