Offline Day Retreat (half-day): silence, nature & nervous system reset | 4 hours | guided by Guka

Location: near Rüti (Canton Zurich). The exact address will be shared after sign-up, as we are hosted in a private home :)

——————

Sometimes we don’t even know what to say. Sometimes we say too much. And sometimes we speak before we even feel what’s actually happening inside.

This Offline Day Retreat is an invitation to step out of the noise and back into the space in between. The space between inhale and exhale. Between thoughts. Between words. Between input and output.

Not everyone can (or wants to) go on a 5-10 day silent retreat. So I created something close to home — a gentle, held half-day in silence, surrounded by nature, where you can downshift, soften, and simply be.

We’ll spend four hours together in quiet, guided through simple practices that help you feel supported in silence. It’s about returning to yourself.

What we’ll do

During our time together, I’ll guide you through a calm, grounded sequence of quiet practices, including:

  • a short arrival + briefing (so you feel safe and clear)
  • guided meditation + mindful presence practices
  • extended breathing exercises to settle the nervous system
  • a silent walk in the nearby forest (gentle, simple, nourishing)
  • a soft closing moment to notice what shifted — and what it felt like to have the space held for you

There is no movement practice in the yoga shala (no asana flow). This retreat is about stillness, breath, and awareness.

Why silence? (benefits of a half-day retreat like this)

Silence can feel unusual at first and that’s exactly why it’s so powerful.

It gives you a chance to step back from the habit of reacting… and return to responding.

This kind of half-day retreat can support you to:

  • downregulate your nervous system and feel calmer in your body
  • create mental space when your mind feels full or busy
  • notice what you’re carrying — without needing to explain it
  • practice being with yourself without distraction (phone, input, noise)
  • feel more grounded, clear, and steady
  • reconnect to intuition and inner honesty
  • soften anxiety + overwhelm through breath and presence
  • improve focus and attention (one thing at a time, slowly)
  • strengthen your ability to pause before reacting
  • observe emotions without being pulled into them
  • feel supported in quiet, even if you usually avoid it
  • rest from “performing” and “being available” all the time
  • experience nature more deeply — sounds, textures, small details
  • return home with a feeling of freshness and simplicity
  • gently prepare you for a longer silent retreat one day (if you ever want that)

It’s like pressing “reset” — not by doing more… but by doing less.

Location & getting there

We’ll meet in a beautiful private house surrounded by nature near Rüti (Canton Zurich).

Because it’s a private home, we won’t share the exact address online, you’ll receive all details after you sign up.

Public transport: easy to reach, and then approx. 10 minutes by train from Rüti + a short walk.

By car: a few parking spots are available. If you’re driving from Zurich and have space, we’d love to connect people for shared rides.

What to bring

  • comfortable clothes (warm layers recommended)
  • shoes that work well for forest trails
  • a warm jacket depending on weather
  • your own yoga mat if you’d like (a few mats are available — just tell us if you need one)

We’ll have water, tea, and small snacks for you.

There won’t be lunch, so I recommend a nourishing breakfast beforehand.

And yes — there will also be a small goodie bag to take home as a reminder of mindful presence.

A little note from me

If you feel called to slow down, breathe, and be held in quiet… I would love to welcome you. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out anytime.

I can’t wait to share this with you.

Warm greetings,

Guka

My story, my yoga journey, began over 20 years ago when I attended a random class in my hometown in Poland. Since that moment, I have never stopped discovering, and being inspired by the power of yoga. I started my yoga teacher training in 2017 and have been learning ever since. First, I completed a 250-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training course in Zurich, Switzerland. This inspired me to travel to India and deep-dive into hatha yoga with a 200-hour teacher training course at one of the ashrams in Rishikesh. Following that, I joined Threes PhysiYoga Method Program to complete an intensive 250-hour PhysiYoga training course for yoga teachers. Under the guidance of top physiotherapists from New York, I’ve been studying anatomy and mobility in yoga, which I’ve been bringing to my classes ever since. As you can see, I consider myself a ‘forever student’. I strongly believe that all forms of movement link the mind and body, and can have a powerful healing effect both mentally and physically. I incorporate many traditions: vinyasa, hatha, PhysiYoga, restorative yoga, sound bath, meditations, and aerial yoga, into my teaching. My goal is to use all aspects of yoga to empower my students and enrich their lives with healthy movement, calm mind and conscious breath.
