MEDITATION SANGHA

the SOULSPACEMeditation is the most important thing Adam has ever learned. The importance of the Sangha (community) is a close second. This Meditation Sangha combines these two powerful forces of practice and community. Each session begins with a short talk and group sharing. Sharing is always optional. The practice includes grounding somatic education activities, guided breathing, self-inquiry pointers, and a period of juicy silence. For those interested we end at Mame Seefeld for a delicious coffee and more sharing. Adam will be happy to answer questions about the practice of meditation in general, your personal experience in particular, or to discuss the deeper history and philosophy of meditation and other esoteric traditions. THE PRACTICE Adam’s meditation style is a mix of activities from somatic education and various techniques found in Tibetan non dual meditation traditions, particularly Dzogchen and Mahamudra. After decades of closely examining the human condition, from the depths of depression to the pyrotechnics of various peak experiences, Adam has found that the only constants are the gravity that holds everything together and the open space of consciousness. The practice is to relax into gravity while opening to the entirety of experience in each moment rather than getting lost in the ceaseless dramas created by our fixation prone and thought driven mind. MAJOR THEMS Each session will be different but the same themes will be explored in different ways and from different perspectives. The most common themes include: · Grounding and the art of relaxation · Embodiment and awareness of the physical body as a continuing process · Opening to the entirety of experience · Investigating the nature of ‘self’ · Gratitude · Practice tips and learning how to begin again in each moment OUR INTENTION Our intention is to help you learn how to take your meditation practice off the cushion and yoga mat and into every single moment of your life. We also hope to cocreate a space with the community to share all the valuable experiences, tools, ideas, and practices that have helped us individually in life. We all have a lot to share, and in Sangha we are stronger. INVESTMENT 15 CHF. This fee will go towards supporting the Soulspace community. The most important investments however are your time, energy, and intentions, for yourself but also for the Sangha community and everyone else in your life.

the SOULSPACEThe Rocket is a dynamic, energetic practice developed by Larry Schultz in the 80s while touring as the yoga teacher for The Grateful Dead. It is a remix of Ashtanga Yoga, so it is a flowing sequence of standing, balancing, seated and inverted postures, linked by vinyasas, which incorporates both the early poses as well as more challenging (but fun) arm-balances and back-bends from the advanced Ashtanga series. And it skips out some of the poses that might break your knees. Everybody gets to do what they want to do. The hard stuff, and the fun stuff. You might not be able to actually do it yet, but at least you get to try… with a musical soundtrack to keep you lifted.Yoga experience recommended.

The intense structure of our class is usually accompanied by music and can include challenging dynamic sequences, as well as prolonged holding of complex and challenging āsanas (postures). ATHAYOGA Power Flow can include contemporary interpretations and elements of Ashtanga Vinyasa, Jivamukti, Kundalini and Power Yoga. Our teachers can apply intense core intervals and teach carefully instructed arm balances and inversions. ATHAYOGA Power Flow is powerful and lifts the spirits. Body and mind are strengthened, mental clarity is achieved and therefore relaxation. The lesson closes with Savasana (relaxation exercise). The class is suitable for experienced and healthy yogis who not only want to leave their comfort zone, but also want to get to know their limits and grow with them.

ATHAYOGA - ZürichIn ATHAYOGA Slow Flow, āsanas (postures) are held a bit longer and more explicitly until a melting point of effort and ease can arise. The flow sequences are guided more slowly by the ATHAYOGA teachers and thus have a very powerful effect. Breathing and movement are synchronised and perception is completely focused on the moment, creating harmony. Breathing exercises and meditation can be integrated. Our class is based on classical Hatha Yoga, inspired by Iyengar and Vinyasa Krama methods and skillfully combined with contemporary insights into body and mind. Tools such as blocks, blankets, cushions, pillows and yoga straps can be used to make āsanas more accessible and therefore more effective. ATHAYOGA Slow Flow provides a holistic well-being and as a result, balance. Our lesson closes with Savasana (relaxation exercise). No complex postures are taught, the Slow Flow classes are accessible to all, including beginners.
